Sarah Sheridan, PT, DPT

Physical Therapist located in Falls Church, VA

About Sarah Sheridan

Sarah grew up in the Northern Virginia area until moving to the UK where she received her Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Sports Therapy from the University of Chichester with a dissertation in Nutrition. Following her undergraduate degree, she moved back to the states to complete her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston, SC.

Sarah had the opportunity to work as the team Sports Therapist for the Swim and Athletics teams at the University of Chichester, where she competed on both teams as a scholar athlete throughout her undergraduate career. In addition, Sarah volunteered for Parkinson's UK Volunteering as a Sports Therapist for marathon runners who supported the charity. At MUSC, Sarah was the student representative for the American Physical Therapy Association’s PT Moves Me Ambassador Program and a student ambassador for MUSC's College of Health Professions. In addition, Sarah participated in stroke rehabilitation research, worked as a neuroscience tutor, and volunteered as a Student Clinician at MUSC's pro bono CARES clinic.

Sarah has previous clinical experience working with all age groups. Sarah integrates manual therapy techniques including Maitland and Mulligan into practice to enhance patient recovery. Sarah's interest areas include sports medicine, pediatrics, POTS, and oncological rehabilitation. Sarah aims to help every patient return to full function and meet their long-term goals while integrating healthy habits into their daily regime.

Fun facts about Sarah: she is a dual US/UK citizen, her joy of working with kids began when she started her own swim lessons business, and she did a shadowing project that peaked her interest in PT at Advantage Physical Therapy when she was in high school. In her free time, Sarah can be found running, kayaking, swimming, hiking, and experimenting with new recipes.
